My year's been so dull that fixing a 35 year old appliance sounds like a vacation. Some of us just find a weird peace in making old junk work again. Guess I'm part of the problem.

Sounds like a pretty sad year to me. That's a lot of wasted time on an old machine that probably should have been replaced. Modern machines are way more efficient and actually save you money in the long run.

My buddy's shop ran an old press for years thinking they were saving cash. Then @grantmartinez is right, the new one they finally got cut their power bill in half and never breaks down. Sometimes the upfront cost really is worth it.
