Had a talk with my buddy Kenji last night about why he dropped Bleach after the Hueco Mundo arc

He said it just felt like the power scaling got too messy and he couldn't keep track of who was stronger than who anymore, and honestly that made me look back at the Arrancar fights in a whole new light - has anyone else stopped watching a long series because the numbers stopped making sense?

Honestly gotta disagree hard here, the power scaling in Bleach was always pretty straightforward with captains being leagues above everyone else until they had to job for plot reasons. Kenji probably just missed how Aizen was stat-checking everybody the whole time.

Happened to me with the second season of One Punch Man. I just started skipping power level debates and focusing on the fights I thought were cool instead.

Is it really that serious though? Like, I get why people get into the math of who beats who, but at some point it's just a show. I mean, maybe I'm just not as invested but I feel like the whole power scaling thing takes away from just enjoying the fights and the story. Like with Bleach, yeah, the captains are strong and Aizen is a schemer, but does it really matter if Zaraki's power level is slightly higher than Byakuya's in one specific arc? Idk, Feels like people sometimes forget these are just dudes with swords shooting energy beams at each other.
