My frozen fries kept coming out soggy for a solid month
I kept setting my air fryer to 400 degrees for 15 minutes like the bag said. They'd be soft inside and burnt on the edges. Last night, I tried shaking the basket every 3 minutes instead of just once. It took 18 minutes total, but they finally got crispy all over. Has anyone else found that the bag instructions are just a starting point?

Shaking them more often makes a huge difference, doesn't it? The bag times seem to assume a perfect, even spread that never happens in real life. Do you find some brands need more shaking than others?

My old toaster oven had the same problem with frozen onion rings.

Oh man, tell me about it. I finally just started putting them on a baking sheet instead of the little tray. Giving them a single flip halfway through cooks them way more evenly. The toaster oven just couldn't handle the crowded tray.
