inDebate: Is hand-sewing headbands worth the extra time or just old-school flexing?
lucasw82 is living the dream honestly. That machine headband lifting on your 2018 job is exactly why I lean hand-sewn for anything I want to last. The stitches sit deeper into the textblock so they actually grip the spine instead of just sitting on top like a sticker. Plus you can adjust tension as you go which machines can't do. It's an extra hour per book for me but I've never had one fail in seven years of doing it.

inFound my old receipts from 2018 and spotted a pricing mistake
Hold up, I gotta correct something real quick. Reese said you were talking about "what you were worrying about years later" but the post was about finding old receipts, not about worrying over something. You were literally just curious if other people had caught pricing mistakes too, you weren't stressing about it. People get way too caught up trying to psychoanalyze a simple question about grocery store errors.

inOverheard two guys at a coffee shop in Portland talking about 5G towers
Didn't a friend of mine say the same thing about a cell tower near their place last year?

inTIL I've been sharpening my kitchen knives wrong for 6 years after watching a YouTube video from a guy in Japan
A little trick for bringing your own knife to parties - wrap it in a clean dish towel instead of a blade guard. Looks way less weird and you've always got a towel ready for cleanup too. What stone grit do you find yourself using the most for that tomato-slicing edge?

inFixed a leaky faucet with a $6 part from Ace Hardware and felt like a plumber for a whole afternoon
Did you check if the faucet handle itself is fully seated? Sometimes a loose handle lets the stem wobble a bit and that wears the washer down faster.
