Met a stranger at a coffee shop who showed me AI art on his tablet and it blew my mind
So I'm sitting in this little cafe downtown last Tuesday grabbing a latte, and this older guy at the next table starts talking to me about his digital art. He pulls out his iPad and shows me these landscapes he made using some AI tool called Midjourney. They looked like real photos but he said it took him maybe 5 prompts and 10 minutes each. He walked me through how he typed in things like 'misty mountain path at dawn' and the AI just built it from scratch. Honestly I never paid attention to this stuff before but now I'm curious if anyone here uses AI for creative projects or just for work stuff?

That "way more addictive than expected" part is so real lol. My buddy Mark tried it last month for a simple logo idea and next thing I know he stayed up until 4am making hyper-realistic portraits of his dog dressed like a Renaissance nobleman. He texted me a blurry photo of his screen at like 2am with no explanation, just a pug in a velvet cloak and a little crown. Now he's got a whole folder on his desktop labeled "AI nonsense" with like 200 images. Told me he even tried to get it to make a tarot card deck for our D&D group and it turned into a whole thing. So yeah, you might want to be careful because that guy at the coffee shop might have just given you a new hobby you can't quit lol.

Tried out Midjourney for a few months after my buddy showed me some video game concept art he made with it. Started messing around with prompts for D&D campaign settings and ended up with some wild floating castles and glowing forests that I use as maps now. It's way more addictive than I expected, so just a heads up you might get hooked too.

Probably don't tell your buddy about the dog portraits or he'll ask you to make one for his cat that he dresses up every Halloween. You'll be stuck in a prompt loop for three days. How many hours a week are we talking about here for that DnD map stuff?
