I finally caved and tried oat milk in my pour-over after swearing it off for 2 years

Hated the idea of putting something other than cow's milk in good coffee, but a barista in Denver convinced me to try it with their house blend last week. It actually worked - creamy without killing the flavor. Anyone else get proven wrong by a shop recommendation?

Funny enough I was in the exact same boat. Tried oat milk a couple years ago and hated it, but one shop in Austin got me to give it another shot and now I actually prefer it in certain roasts.

Nah, I gotta disagree with @shane_fisher37 on this one. I've tried oat milk in coffee maybe five times over the last two years and every single time it just tasted like watery oatmeal water with a hint of coffee. The barista thing makes sense if they're using a really bright roast or something dialed in perfect, but at home or most shops it just misses the mark for me. I'd rather go black or with whole milk any day, even if it means being the last person to try something new.

Oat milk's actually been great in coffee for years, you're just late to the party.
