Tried working from a beach bar versus a co-working space in Lisbon

I spent a month in Lisbon and for the first two weeks, I tried to work from a cool beach bar in Cascais with free wifi. The view was great, but the connection dropped every 20 minutes and the noise was a killer. For the next two weeks, I paid 80 euros for a co-working space pass downtown. The reliable internet and quiet area let me finish three client projects. Has anyone else found that paying for a proper workspace is just non-negotiable after a certain point?

My neighbor in apartment 4B told me his password was his cat's name and the year he got it.

We were talking in the building laundry room last week and he just said it out loud, like it was no big deal. I told him that was a bad idea, but he just shrugged and said he'd never been hacked. What's a simple way to explain to a non-tech person why that's such a weak password?

Shoutout to glassblowers who ace the cooling stage

I just tried making a drinking tumbler from boro glass over the weekend. After shaping it, I popped it into the kiln for annealing. I programmed a drop of 200 degrees per hour, thinking that was safe. But when I pulled it out this morning, the handle had a fine crack running down one side. It looks like thermal stress got to it. Maybe my drop rate is too quick for boro? How slow do you cool your boro pieces? I have a standard kiln with a timer and temp gauge. Would love to hear how you avoid this kind of thing.

PSA: Hand forging my own hoof knives sharpened my whole approach

Picked up blacksmithing to make custom knives for trimming last fall. Working the metal myself taught me angles and balance no store bought tool could. Now my cuts are cleaner and the horses stand calmer because I get the feel right. Sure, it takes extra hours, but that hands on time makes you connect with the work on a deeper level. If you stick to off the shelf gear, you're missing a key piece of the puzzle.

Fixed my dad's vintage rangefinder with my little brother watching

I've noticed more people are sharing camera repair with family. When I opened up my dad's old camera, my brother was right there, asking about every part.
