inHad to pick between the $3 and the $12 part for a customer's dryer fix
My buddy Marvin did the same thing with his lawnmower. Bought the $8 carburetor instead of the $35 one I told him to get. Thing flooded out every time he used it. He spent more time cleaning the spark plug than actually mowing. Finally bought the right part after three weekends of that nonsense. Sometimes cheap just means you pay twice.

inMy old boss talked me out of going for a management job
Ever notice how the people happiest in their jobs are usually the ones who didn't chase the corner office? Had a buddy who turned down manager to stay on the tools, and five years later he's still grinning while his old boss is on blood pressure meds.

inOld bricklayer corrected my mortar mix 2 years ago and I still think about it
You ever stop and think about how mortar is just like cooking though? Too much water and it gets weak, not just saggy. I had a guy tell me the same thing once and I realized my bricks were actually sliding around way more than I thought.

Monday morning to Friday night" sounds like my whole month honestly. Nonstop trainwreck.

inRan into an old timer at the dump who changed how I think about plastic
40 years of use" is cool and all, but plastic degrades eventually. Not sure I'd lose sleep over it.
