Dig through your old stuff first. I found a couple of those dinosaur banks in my attic last year. Sold them online for way more than I thought. Just take clear photos and list them on auction sites. People pay for nostalgia, not just the toy. Use that cash to start a real emergency fund.

Read a piece about those T-Rex bank toys going viral again. People are reselling vintage ones for wild prices online, like over $200 for a single piece. Turns out some folks dug theirs out of storage and made rent money.
