Recently, I refused to fake patina on a dresser
A lady brought in a dresser she bought cheap. She wanted me to add fake wear marks to sell it as antique. I know many finishers do this to make more cash. But I think it's not right to trick buyers. I told her I would only restore it properly.

Well, @the_simon, I guess if we're okay with fake antiques, maybe I should start selling my old jeans as vintage Levi's. No harm done, right?

Trick buyers" seems a bit strong, doesn't it? It's just a dresser she bought cheap, who's really getting hurt?

Ugh, right? Like maybe they feel silly after, but it's not some huge scam. We've all paid too much for something before.
