Just saw my total freelance income cross $75k this morning, which is wild because I started with a $200 logo.

Never thought I'd get here after that first tiny job, so has anyone else hit a number that made you stop and go 'huh'?

Yeah that "started with a $200 logo" part is so real. I read a blog post once where someone said the first tiny project is just proof you can get paid at all. Hitting a big number like that must feel pretty wild.

Oh man, I read something similar. It was an interview where a designer said that first small fee isn't about the money, it's about the proof. It shows someone trusted you enough to pay you for your work. That shift in your own head is the real starting point.

Totally agree with what @patriciah51 shared about that first fee being proof. It changes how you see your own work. My first paid gig was just fixing a friend's website for pizza, but even that made it real. Getting to a number like that takes a ton of those small wins where someone picks you.
