Vent: The new guy watched me pour a mold for a week before he spoke up
I was making a simple gear blank pattern, packing the sand the same way I have for eight years. This kid, maybe six months out of trade school, finally goes, 'Mr. Carr, your rammer is angled. You're putting a stress line in every piece.' I looked at my hands and he was RIGHT. I was holding it like a shovel. Changed my grip that day and my scrap rate on those blanks dropped by half. Anyone else get schooled by the greenest person on the floor?

That's the real test of a good shop culture right there. A new guy feeling safe enough to speak up, and an old hand being humble enough to listen. Saves money and builds a better team.

Had a green kid catch a torque spec error on a big job last month. Senior tech checked the manual, kid was right. That moment of listening saved us a huge headache and earned real respect.

Honestly my buddy's crew avoided a total engine rebuild cause their rookie spoke up about a stripped bolt.
