Our new employee thought silk flowers needed daily watering.

We hired a new person for our florist shop last spring. They assumed the silk flower displays were real and needed care. Every morning, they would quietly water them with a small can. It took us three weeks to notice the constant dampness. We had a good chat about artificial plants after that.

Read this and laughed out loud at my desk. Totally get where @caleb_price is coming from with the talking to plants thing. We had this fake fiddle leaf fig in our old office that looked so real I caught myself judging its "health" for weeks. Someone finally had to point out it was plastic, and I felt so silly. Makes you wonder about my own house plants, right?

That is honestly the most pure thing I've ever heard! What a sweet, well-meaning mistake. You gotta love someone who just wants to do a good job and care for the plants, even the fake ones. It paints such a funny but kind picture in my head. Bet that new hire was so embarrassed, but it really shows they have a good heart. Stuff like that makes for the best shop stories later on.

Honestly, I've done worse with fake plants. Once spent a month talking to a plastic fern thinking it was good for growth, lmao. My girlfriend still won't let me live that down.
