Finally got a Saturday wedding gig to go right after 3 tries in Marietta
Third time doing a wedding setup at the Marietta Country Club and I finally got the timeline down. First two times I had centerpieces wilting by the time guests sat down. This time I put the hydrangeas in a cooler overnight and did the final arranging at 8 AM instead of the night before. They held up through the whole reception. Anyone else learned a hard lesson about timing with wedding flowers?
Oh I feel that pain so much. The fridge trick for hydrangeas is a lifesaver, but I've also learned to always have a backup bucket of fresh water and flower food for the centerpieces during the reception. I used to think I could just do everything the night before and it would be fine, but then I learned the hard way that peonies and garden roses are super picky about being in a hot venue for hours. Have you tried using a spray bottle to mist the petals every couple hours during setup?
