That job in the old Victorian house on Maple Street last month was a real test
Honestly, the subfloor was so out of level we had to plane down high spots by almost an inch in some places. The homeowner wanted this specific wide-plank oak that just wouldn't sit right without a ton of prep work. We spent three full days just getting the floor ready before we could even think about laying the first board. Has anyone else run into a historic home where the prep took longer than the actual install?

That's just how it goes with old houses, lol.

Tell me about it, my place has more quirks than a cartoon character. I mean, something new pops up every other week. Just gotta laugh or you'd go crazy.

Yeah, I used to think that was a bad thing too.
