Shoutout to the crews still doing full site prep before laying anything
Lately, a lot of new guys in my town skip checking subfloors and just slap down planks. I think this leads to bumps and gaps later, but everyone acts like it's fine to save time. Do you really think cutting prep is okay, or are we setting ourselves up for fails?

Cutting corners on subfloor prep always bites you later! I learned the hard way that a few extra minutes with a level and patching compound saves callbacks. Trust me, doing it right the first time is way cheaper than fixing failures down the road.

Skimping on subfloor prep always causes trouble down the line. When I started out, I tried to save time and ended up with a wavy floor that needed fixing. Now I never skip the prep work because it actually saves more time in the long run.
