Hot take: I always thought a standard 18 gauge nailer was fine for engineered hardwood until I tried a 16 gauge for a big job in Phoenix last month.
The extra holding power from the thicker nails meant zero callbacks for squeaks, which totally changed my mind on the right tool for the job, so what's your go-to nailer for engineered floors over concrete?

That's a good point about the 16 gauge, but @the_jordan, a 15 gauge is actually the real standard for engineered over slab.

My buddy in Tucson had the same issue with his 16 gauge.

Gotta disagree with you there, @the_jordan. I've seen way more 16 gauge used over slab without any problems. Your buddy's issue might have been the install, not the gauge.
