Glue down vs floating floor debate for a basement job

Had to decide between glue down LVP and a floating click system for a basement in Salem last week. I went with glue down because I worried about moisture and movement, but now I'm second guessing after the fumes took forever to clear. Customer wanted the quieter feel but the install was way more messy than I expected. Anyone else wrestle with this choice for basements and regret going one way or the other?

... so did you test the subfloor moisture levels before you glued, or just go with your gut? Because I've heard some guys say a proper moisture barrier under a floating floor handles basements fine, and the glue down traps moisture under the planks if the slab isn't totally dry... what was your reading?

Glued some planks in my own basement and never looked back, fumes faded after a day.

That glue you used, did you check what its moisture rating was before you put it down? I'm wondering if it held up over time without any peeling or soft spots.
