Bought a whole roll of 'luxury' silk that turned out to be terrible quality

Spent almost $200 on it from an online fabric store, and it frays like crazy the second you cut it. The weave is so loose it's basically unusable for the structured jacket I planned. Anyone know a good source for real, heavy silk that won't fall apart?

Yeah, I just stopped buying the fancy brands. Found a cheaper one that works way better for me, idk. Maybe it's just me but the price tag doesn't always mean good.
