Warning: that new facial steam machine at the mall kiosk burned my face
I stopped by one of those pop-up skincare kiosks at the Westside Mall last Saturday because they offered a free demo. The girl used this little handheld steam machine on me for barely 3 minutes and my cheeks were bright red and tender for two days. I checked the temperature setting after I got home and it was way too high for sensitive skin, probably over 110 degrees. Has anyone else had a bad reaction to those mall machines? I want to know if I should report it.

Probably over 110 degrees" she says. Yeah no kidding, that thing could have doubled as a clothes steamer. Sorry that happened to you, mall kiosk people really out here giving folks second degree burns for free.

Yikes, that sounds rough. I had a similar thing happen at a different mall kiosk a few years back. My face was red and blotchy for almost a week. In my experience, those machines are never properly cleaned either, so you're getting steam and whatever germs the last person left behind. I'd say definitely report it to the mall management, that kind of heat can really mess with your skin barrier. Take it from someone who learned the hard way.
