Can we talk about switching from cotton rounds to reusable pads for toner application
I used to go through bags of those round cotton pads from CVS every month, probably 3 or 4 packs easy. Now I've been using these reusable bamboo rounds I got off Etsy for about 6 months and I just wash them with my towels. Idk maybe it's just me but my toner seems to absorb better and I'm not tossing all that waste. Anyone else made the switch and noticed a difference in product usage or skin feel?

That "product seems to absorb better" thing is real, I notice the same with my makeup sponges after switching to washable ones.

Have you seen that dermatologist on YouTube talking about how disposable cotton rounds can cause micro-tears in your skin over time? @carter.gavin's point about the fabric dragging reminded me of that, definitely makes me feel better about switching too.

Stella is right, that absorption difference is legit. Read somewhere that the fibers in cotton rounds can actually grab onto and hold product more than the smoother bamboo material, so less toner ends up on your skin. I was skeptical at first because I figured waste was the only reason to switch, but my face definitely feels less dry after applying now. The cloth pads seem to glide instead of drag across my skin too, which has to be gentler in the long run.

Has anyone thought about how much bacteria can build up on those reusable pads if you don't dry them properly between uses? I switched to bamboo rounds too and love them, but I noticed if I just toss them in a damp pile in my bathroom they start to smell funky after a few days. I started keeping a little mesh bag near my sink and hanging it up after each use so air can get to them. Same with washing - I use hot water and a splash of vinegar now and then to keep them from getting gross. Just something to watch out for since we're rubbing these right on our faces.
