Can we talk about the new synthetic rope lube from that big supplier?

I put it on a set of 5/8 inch ropes in a downtown office building last month, and it actually made the traction worse after a couple of days. I mean, it was supposed to be an upgrade, but now I'm getting callbacks for jerky starts. Has anyone else had a bad reaction with this stuff on older sheaves?

Yeah, "jerky starts" on older sheaves... I saw a post on another forum saying the new formula doesn't play nice with the old groove shapes. It can gum up.

Totally saw that too. Had the same thing happen on my old 3VX setup last season. Felt like it was grabbing and then letting go, super annoying.

That old 3VX groove is just too shallow for the new high-tack stuff. It basically hydroplanes until it finds a tiny bit of traction.
