Used to haul my own scaffolding in a minivan until last Tuesday in Fresno
I used to cram 8-foot scaffolds in a beat up minivan and unload them by hand piece by piece at every job. Finally saw a guy load a whole rig on a proper trailer with a winch, and realized I was wasting an hour each setup just on the damn scaffolding. Anyone else switch to a trailer or am I just late to the party?

Drove a sedan for years with a ladder strapped to the roof and a tool pouch hanging off the passenger seat. Finally got a truck when I realized how sketchy it looked driving through a weigh station.

That 8-foot stuff in a minivan was me too, right down to the hand unloading at every job. I watched a guy in Phoenix winch up a full rig in about 15 minutes while I was still untangling straps from the back seat. Honest truth, I thought trailers were just showing off until I did the math on setup time and realized I was burning a good 45 minutes per job for no good reason.

Nah man, you're close but the math's a little off. 15 minutes for a full rig setup is fast but not unheard of if you've got a winch and a good system. What you're forgetting is the time you lose at the end of the day breaking it all down, plus loading and unloading materials. I used to do the same thing, and once I timed myself it was more like an hour and a half per job start to finish when you count the cleanup. That 45 minutes you're thinking of is just the setup part, not the whole cycle.
