Took me 45 minutes to find a single missing meeple under the couch yesterday

Did you check inside the Carcassonne box itself... right where it should've been?

Shoutout to my local grocery store's clearance bin for saving my dinner plans

Have you ever found something in the clearance section that was a total steal? I grabbed a really nice pair of leather boots once for almost nothing because the box was beaten up. The boots themselves were perfect. It is amazing how much good stuff ends up there if you are patient enough to dig through it.

Finally tried the ice cube trick for pie crust and it actually worked wonders

Oh come on, it's really not that deep. I mean yeah cold butter helps but people act like it's this huge secret that'll change your life. You don't need to dump it in ice cubes like you're making a fancy cocktail. Just stick your butter in the freezer for ten minutes before you start, that's what I do and it works fine. All this extra fussing around with ice cubes just makes more mess and cleanup for no real reason. Unless you're entering a bake-off for a blue ribbon, nobody's gonna taste the difference anyway.

Had to pick between a password manager and a notebook for my logins

Oh man, I feel that. I used to keep a notebook under my keyboard for passwords until my nephew spilled juice all over it during a visit. Switched to a password manager after that and honestly it's way less hassle than trying to hide a piece of paper somewhere clever. Now I just let the app handle everything and don't have to worry about getting locked out again.

Saw a guy on a mobile crane skip his outrigger pads on wet ground last Tuesday

He said he does it all the time" - yeah, well, I've seen guys say that and then eat their words. The thing nobody's mentioning is how the weight shifts when the boom is fully extended and swinging. A 50 ton crane with a 100 foot boom moving a load laterally while on wet ground, that's a lot of lateral force. The outriggers aren't just holding it up. They're anchoring it against tipping sideways. Soft ground gives way faster when the pressure comes from an angle instead of straight down. I've seen a boom truck tilt just from the ground giving out under one pad during a swing. It doesn't have to be a full tip to wreck your day.
