Unpopular opinion: Pencil drafts work better than CAD for my patio design

I used to think all drafting had to be done on a computer. Drawing my patio plan by hand saved me so much time and hassle. How do you handle quick drafting jobs?

But CAD lets you make changes way faster.

CAD does let you make changes fast, but that's mostly true for experts. New users often spend more time figuring out the software than actually drafting.

Remember that time in my intro to CAD class, half the lab period was just finding the right button. Mitchell.lee isn't wrong about the speed for changes, but the_hayden has a point about the upfront cost in time. It feels like you need to make a hundred drawings before the software stops fighting you. Calling it a fast tool only tells part of the story.
