Just realized how much my old T-square and vellum feel like a different job now.

Back in the early 2000s, I'd spend half a Friday just cleaning up a single C-size plot from the old KIP machine... now I just hit 'save to PDF' and it's done. The switch to full digital in our office around 2015 was rough for a bit, but I can't imagine going back. Does anyone else miss the physical feel of a drawing sometimes, or is it just me being old?

@milessmith The red pencil thing is real, my brain just works different with a printout vs a screen.

Wait, did you say a C-size plot? I thought those were D-size. The big ones that came off the KIP were always D in my shop. Maybe it was different by brand. Anyway, I get the feeling. I don't miss the ammonia smell from the diazo machine one bit, but I do miss being able to just grab a red pencil and mark up a sheet right there. Making notes on a PDF just isn't the same kind of thinking.

Ever think the real loss is the shared copy? Used to be one marked-up sheet got passed around the shop. Now everyone's got their own digital file with separate notes. How do you even know you're all looking at the same version?
