That $50 moisture meter from Amazon was a complete waste of money
I bought one of those cheap electronic moisture meters to check a damp spot in my basement wall before painting. It kept giving me random readings between 5 and 30 percent on the same spot. I took the $50 and rented a pinless one from Home Depot for $20 a day and got a solid number. Anyone else get burned by those budget tools that just don't work right?

That $50 meter should've just come with a free brick wall to test on.

OH MAN, I feel this in my bones. Mine reads my hand as 15% moisture and a dry sponge as 80% so it's clearly a MASTER of science. Guess I'll just stick to the ol' knock test and hope for the best.
