Hot take: That $15 bottle of penetrating oil is actually worth it

I spent years using WD-40 on every stuck bolt and rusted nut around my house. Thought all those expensive penetrating oils were just marketing hype. Then last month I had a 20 year old gate hinge that wouldn't budge. My neighbor loaned me his can of Kroil and that thing started moving after 10 minutes. Tried the WD-40 first on another hinge and it did nothing. Bought my own can of the good stuff the next day. It's sitting in my garage now and I actually feel stupid for fighting with bolts for hours. Anyone else held out on spending more than $5 on a spray can and regretted it?

My grandpa used bacon grease on everything, swore by it.

Wait, you used to look down on bacon grease too? I was the same way. Thought it was gross and unhealthy. Then my buddy fried eggs in it and I shut up real fast. Changed everything.
