Tried posting my art on DeviantArt vs a tiny Discord server for feedback

The server gave me 15 real critiques in 3 hours while DeviantArt just racked up views and a few generic "nice work" comments. Anybody else feel like the big platforms are useless for actually improving?

Wait did you also get that one comment that was like "nice colors" but didn't say anything else? Lol I swear some people just spam that on everything.

My brother used to do that kind of thing on purpose just to mess with people. He'd leave one word comments like "cool" or "neat" on random posts and laugh about it later. Says it's some kind of social experiment to see who gets annoyed. Honestly it just makes me wonder how much free time some people actually have.

@emmag22 does it bug anyone else that "nice colors" might actually be a sincere compliment on a bad day? I've left some pretty lazy comments myself when I'm half asleep and just trying to be nice. My phone autocorrected "colors" to "colons" once and I never hit send so fast.
