Honestly, I'm seeing way more DEF system issues on trucks from the 2012-2015 era lately. Had three come into the shop last week alone.

Yeah, and I wonder how much of it is just those systems hitting their natural lifespan. All the sensors and pumps from back then are just old now, doing the job for over a decade. It's not always a design flaw, sometimes stuff just wears out. We're seeing the first big wave of these trucks aging out of the typical ownership cycle and needing real work.

Tell me about it, my own 2013 is starting to make that weird groaning noise from the DEF pump and I'm just ignoring it for now. Alice_hart is totally right about things just wearing out, but man, it feels personal when it's your own truck. Makes me wish I'd been nicer to it all these years, maybe given it a pep talk or something. Guess I'll join the club and bring it in soon before it fully quits on me.
