That week I found $40 worth of gift cards in my couch cushions

So I was cleaning out my old recliner last Tuesday trying to find a lost remote, and I pulled out three gift cards from under the cushion. Two had like $0.80 each left on them, but the third one from Target still had $37.42 on it from like two years ago. I ran out and bought groceries with it that same day, felt like I won the lottery or something. Anyone else ever find forgotten cash or cards hiding in random spots?

I found a quarter in a jacket once and bought a coffee like I was a millionaire.

And that's exactly how it always goes, right? You never find the cash when you're actually looking for it, you find it when you've given up and are just digging around for a remote or a lost sock. It's like the universe has this weird system where buried treasure only reveals itself once you stop trying. I swear, I've found more money under car seats and in old coat pockets than I've ever won on a scratch-off. It makes you wonder how much cash is just sitting there, hiding in plain sight, waiting for the day you finally clean out your junk drawer or rotate your winter clothes out. Honestly, those little finds hit different because it's money you already spent and forgot about, so it feels like getting a gift from your past self.

Feels like life hides good stuff on purpose, just to mess with us.
