My mom told me to just make the bed, even if the rest of the room is a mess

I thought it was silly advice for years, but I started doing it last month. Now, that one small task makes the whole day feel a bit more manageable, you know? Anyone else have a simple tip like that that actually worked?

Yeah, it's weird how that works... like what @the_lucas said about momentum. I started just putting my shoes by the door every night, and now I don't spend ten minutes looking for them in the morning. It's a tiny thing, but it makes the whole morning feel less rushed.

Totally get that. I used to think it was pointless too, but starting the day with one win sets a tone. It makes tackling the bigger messes feel less impossible somehow.

Exactly! It's like a mental hack. That one small win proves to you that you can do stuff, so your brain stops fighting you on the next thing. It breaks the cycle of feeling stuck before you even start. Before you know it, you've built up some real momentum instead of just staring at a huge to-do list.
