My rescue dog finally figured out the dog door after 8 months

Got him from the shelter last fall. He would just sit and stare at the flap. For weeks. Then yesterday, my cat zoomed through it chasing a fly. Dog watched, tilted his head, and just... followed her. Did it three more times like he'd always known. The shelter said he lived in a crate before. Guess he just needed to see it was okay. Anyone else have a pet that learned something from watching another animal?

It's crazy how much they learn by just watching. Makes you wonder what else they pick up from each other.

My cat taught our puppy to use the stairs, guess they just need a good example sometimes.
