My neighbor told me to get a second cat and I thought she was nuts

She said my cat, Mochi, was bored and a friend would calm him down. I was sure it would double the chaos. Well, I adopted a little orange kitten named Cheeto about two months ago. Mochi spent the first day hiding, but by day three they were chasing each other around the couch. Now they sleep in a pile every afternoon and Mochi hasn't knocked a single plant off the shelf since. Anyone else have a pet that totally changed after getting a new buddy?

That "double the chaos" fear is so real... I had the same worry with my two. It turns out a lot of that bad energy was just boredom, and they work it out on each other now instead of my furniture. It's honestly quieter with two.

I always thought it was a terrible idea too, but mine did the same thing.

Totally agree, it sounds backwards but it works. My second one gave the first a full time job and they just wear each other out. The house is way calmer now.
