My cat staged a full protest in the cereal aisle today

I was at the grocery store in my town, picking up some basics with my cat, Binx, in his carrier. We were in the cereal aisle when a woman, maybe in her 60s, stopped and looked right at him. She leaned down and said, 'You look like you have some strong opinions on the oat bran, sir.' Binx, who had been quiet, let out this long, dramatic meow right on cue. The woman laughed and said, 'See? He's telling you to get the one with the raisins.' It was such a silly, quick moment, but it made the whole errand fun. It stuck with me because it was a nice reminder that pets can be these little icebreakers for happy, small talk with strangers. Used to think that was silly... but my dog does it too.

Yeah @jana_scott, that "silly" thing becomes real fast. My dog will stare at a blank wall like it's showing a movie. Or bark at a single leaf that dared to move on the patio. It's like they have a whole secret world we just get hints of.
