I finally decided between digital and traditional for my daily doodles
I spent like 2 weeks going back and forth between using my iPad Pro and a plain old sketchbook for these daily doodles. I ended up picking the sketchbook because I wanted something I could carry around without worrying about battery life lol. First week was rough though, I kept reaching for the undo button that doesn't exist on paper. Has anyone else struggled with picking one format over the other?

Yeah I read somewhere that switching from digital to paper makes your brain work differently because you can't rely on undo. Honestly that's what I've been hearing from other artists too. I tried going full digital once but I missed the feeling of the pen scratching the paper. Keep at it with the sketchbook though, after a few weeks your hand gets used to it and you stop reaching for that undo button so much.

What helped me was starting with super simple stuff, like just drawing lines and circles before trying anything serious. I'd spend like five minutes a day on that, nothing crazy. After a week or so my hand stopped shaking so much and I actually liked the feel of the pencil more than the stylus. Also I found that using a thicker paper with some texture made the feedback way better, like you can hear and feel the scratch. Now I actually prefer paper for quick sketches because I don't get stuck fixing every little mistake.
