My 500th dad joke landed like a lead balloon

I hit 500 dad jokes told in our family group chat this past Sunday. My daughter Sarah rolled her eyes so hard I thought they'd get stuck. She said "Dad, that's your 500th one this year alone." Has anyone else kept count and regretted it?

500 dad jokes is absolutely nothing to be proud of. You're basically training your daughter to tune you out completely before she even hits high school. I stopped counting at 87 because my wife threatened to delete the group chat and start a new one without me. How long until Sarah just mutes your contact altogether?

My buddy Mike tried this with his son and the kid literally started answering his phone with "What do you want, Dad?" before he even said hello. He hit joke 213 and his son texted him a screenshot of his contact name changed to "Joke Warning." Last I heard he was at 400 something and his son just hands the phone to his mom the second Mike starts talking.

700 is where I had to switch to knock-knock jokes just to keep my kid from muting me. @sullivan.spencer's buddy Mike has the right idea with the contact name change though, I tried that and my wife just photoshopped a "mute" button onto my face in our Christmas card.
