Tried posting shorts at 6am instead of noon and views tripled for no reason

I've been uploading YouTube shorts for about 4 months now, mostly around lunchtime because that's when I have a break. Last week I had a early fencing job so I posted one at 6am on a Wednesday before heading out. That video hit 2,400 views in the first 8 hours while my usual ones crawl to maybe 800 over a week. I did the same thing again Friday and Saturday, got similar results both times. No clue why morning works better for my content but I'm switching my whole schedule now. Has anyone else noticed a weird time slot that just clicks for their channel?

Early morning worked for me when I was posting crafting tutorials. My videos started getting picked up by people having their coffee before work. That quiet window right before the day gets busy seems to let the algorithm show your content to the right audience first.

@scott.miles has me rethinking my whole sleep schedule. My version of "early bird" is hitting publish at 2am after a sugar rush from stale Oreos. Let me tell you, the algorithm did NOT appreciate my cat playing piano at midnight. Maybe I should try your method instead of hoping the 3am crowd goes viral.
