Showerthought: I spent $200 on a new mic and it fixed my whole sound issue
My voiceovers for my short videos kept sounding muddy and echoey, even in a quiet room. I was about to buy sound foam panels for way more money, but a friend said to try a better mic first. I got a basic condenser mic for around $200 and plugged it right into my computer. The difference was huge, no more weird room noise. Has anyone else found that one simple gear change made a bigger fix than a whole room setup?

That "muddy and echoey" sound was my whole life until I learned to stop yelling into my laptop mic.
