PSA: I spent $200 on a 'viral' video editing course that was just recycled YouTube tutorials.

Some say paid courses are worth it for structure, but I think you can learn everything free. Has anyone else felt burned by a pricey online class?

My own personal low point was buying a "premium" guide to fixing my dishwasher. The big secret was unplugging it for thirty seconds. I paid forty bucks to learn the tech version of turning it off and on again. Sometimes the free fix is just a google search away, but we get tricked into thinking the paid version has some magic answer. It's a special kind of frustration when you realize you bought a fancy wrapper for common knowledge.

That reminds me of a friend who bought a fancy photography course. Turns out the "exclusive" presets were just free ones you can find anywhere.

Feel my pain, I once bought a "secret" recipe ebook that was just a blog post from 2008.
