My first woodworking project cracked right down the middle after I stained it

I was in my garage last Saturday, almost done with a walnut cutting board for my sister, when a hairline split appeared right as the stain dried. I ended up filling it with fine sawdust mixed with wood glue, sanded it smooth, and you honestly can't even see it now unless you look real close. Has anyone else had to do a quick fix on a piece they were proud of?

Woodworking cracks are just like those small arguments that pop up in relationships right when everything seems perfect. You patch it up, smooth it over, and most people never even notice the scar. The trick is catching it before the whole thing falls apart.
