Choosing between a big launch or slow growth for my new project

I had to pick between dropping my whole video series at once or spacing it out over 6 weeks, and I went with the big launch to try and get more initial buzz. Honestly, it just made the first week feel huge and then my channel went totally quiet for a month, which was worse for my views. Do you think a slow drip is always better for keeping an audience?

My podcast last year did the exact same thing, dropped five episodes in a week. We got a big spike in downloads that first Friday and then nothing for weeks, it was brutal. The slow drip feels way better because it gives people a reason to come back and check your channel every week. That regular schedule builds a habit for them. I learned the hard way that a big splash just makes a puddle that dries up fast. Now I always space my content out.

Learned that lesson the hard way too.

Yeah I did that with my video series last fall. Posted three tutorials back to back and got a ton of views day one, then my channel was dead for a month. Switched to one video every Tuesday morning. After a few weeks, I started seeing the same usernames in the comments each time. That regular drop is what actually builds an audience.
