Update: finished my first 30 day prompt challenge last month, all 30 written at the laundromat on 9th
Three years of starting and quitting prompt lists, and what finally worked was leaving my notebook in the car so I had to write while the dryer ran, which is how I got 30 tiny stories in 30 days and now I need a new gimmick for month two, so where do you all hide your notebooks to force yourself to actually write?
30 stories at a laundromat is wild but the dryer timer is the real trick there, a hard stop makes your brain finish things. Tying writing to a chore you already do beats hiding notebooks somewhere you'll just ignore them, you can't skip laundry forever. Maybe month two is bus rides or your lunch break, some place with a built in end time.
