TIL a $12 label maker saved my novel outline from total chaos
I spent 3 days mapping out my fantasy trilogy on index cards, then my cat knocked the whole table over. Cards went everywhere, and I couldn't tell which villain belonged to which subplot. I grabbed a cheap label maker from the office supply store for $12 and color coded each storyline with sticky labels. Now every red card is the rebellion arc, blue is the romance, green is the prophecy stuff. It took an afternoon to re-sort, but now I can shuffle scenes without losing my place. Has anyone else tried a weird tool like this for plotting, or am I just overcomplicating it?
