Am I the only one who side-eyes the 'customer is always right' crowd now?
I used to 100% buy into that whole 'customer is always right' thing. Firefighter logic, I guess. But last month a guy came into my buddy's hardware store screaming about a faulty tape measure. It was a $4 tape measure he'd dropped in a puddle. My buddy calmly showed him the water damage on the blade. The guy kept yelling. My buddy gave him a new one for free just to shut him up. I thought that was weak at first. But later my buddy said 'I'm not paid to argue over four bucks, I'm paid to keep the store running.' It hit different. He's right. The customer isn't always right. But keeping peace is often smarter than proving a point. Anyone else have that moment where you realized being right cost more than it was worth?

Yeah that's pretty much where I landed on it too.

Oh, so we're both in the same boat of questionable decisions? (I think my boat might be leaking, honestly.)
