Vent: Spaced on the jib extension and nearly clipped a power line
I was setting up for a lift last week and totally forgot to account for the jib being out. Had the load up and saw how close I was to those wires, lmao. Had to swing back quick and redo my math right there. Now I make sure to check my charts twice before any lift. Such a dumb move but it sure taught me to focus more.

Remember almost taking out a phone line with my boom because I didn't check the swing radius... had the load up and everything before I saw how close it was. My heart just dropped right there in the cab. Had to lower it slow and start all over again, felt like such an idiot. Now I triple check my setup even on small lifts... it's those little things that get you. Scares you straight for sure.

That phone line must have been way closer than it looked from the ground... @lucasjackson, what's the first thing you look for now when checking your swing? I mean after a scare like that, does your eye go straight to the power lines, or do you have a set spot you always check before anything moves? It seems like that moment of panic changes how you see the whole site layout... you stop assuming things are clear and start really knowing they are. I bet you see that cable in your mind every single time you get in the cab now.

Ugh, that's the worst feeling (like your stomach just falls out). I always do a slow test swing with the boom empty now, just to see the full arc from up there before anything's on the hook. The view from the ground can totally lie to you.
