Had to choose between a 2-part line and a single line on a tight lift last Friday
I was picking a 12-ton HVAC unit onto a 4-story roof in downtown Portland and the spotter zone was TINY. My gut said run a 2-part line for the extra control but I went with a single line for speed since I had a narrow window before street traffic picked up. The single line worked but I had to baby the boom every inch of the way and it took longer than I thought. Next time I'm going with the 2-part even if it takes a few minutes extra to rig up. Any of you guys ever pick speed over control and regret it?

Hated every second of that dance, man. Been there with a 15-ton chiller on a tight roof corner, picked speed and spent an extra forty minutes boom-jogging because the load had just enough swing to make me grit my teeth. Two-part line is always the right call when the landing pad is smaller than your truck bed.

Rigging that way saved my back more times than speed ever did, @river320
