Took 8 weeks but my client's nail beds finally look normal after I stopped filing the sides
She came in with peeling, sore nails from years of aggressive prep and I switched her to a gentle hand file in March. Two months in and the white spots grew out, half her nail is smooth now. Anyone else have a client swear their old tech was fine when it clearly wasn't?

Eight weeks is a long time but the fact that she had white spots growing out says a lot. That means her nails were damaged way down in the bed, not just at the surface, which is what years of hard filing does to people. The part that gets me is she still swears her old tech was fine, like her nails were falling apart for fun or something.
