Rant: My color mixer died mid-appointment yesterday
I was right in the middle of a full balayage on a regular client, maybe 45 minutes in, and my color mixer just stopped spinning. Just a little click sound and nothing. I had to grab a bowl and a brush and do it by hand for the rest of the appointment. My wrist is still sore today. Has anyone else had a mixer fail at the worst possible time?

Grab a backup hand mixer from a thrift store for emergencies, it saved my butt once when my main one died mid-foil. It's not the prettiest tool but it works for those rare moments when you're screwed and need to keep going. Even a cheap one beats scrambling with a bowl and brush for an hour.

Nodding along while reading this because I totally get it. I actually have a backup hand mixer that's bright orange and looks like it survived a fire in the 70s, but it gets the job done. Funny thing is I bought it for a dollar at a garage sale thinking I'd never use it, then my main mixer died right when I was halfway through making cookie dough for a party. Spent the next ten minutes trying to figure out which button actually made it spin.
