That moment I realized I was spreading misinformation about the moon landing for years

I used to be that person who swore the Apollo 11 footage was faked based on some YouTube video about the flag waving. Then last month I actually sat down and watched the full 1969 press conference with Neil Armstrong where he explained the flag had a wire frame. It hit me that I was parroting something without checking the primary source. Anyone else ever have that wake-up call where you realize you were the one who was wrong the whole time?

Yeah, I was totally in that camp too, thought the whole thing was a hoax for years. Watching that full press conference (the one @uma_martinez mentioned) really made me feel stupid for not just checking the facts first. It's humbling to realize you were the one spreading nonsense all that time.

Did you watch the full press conference or just the clip about the flag?

Waited until my coffee kicked in to watch it, so I can't say I caught every single detail. But yeah, I sat through the whole thing and somehow still ended up fixated on that flag moment. My attention span is terrible, your mileage may vary though.
